This creamy sauce can be used on any mexican dish that could benefit from a squeeze of limey avocadoey goodness.
Put It On All Things Mexican
This sauce is delicious! We have eaten it on nachos, tacos and burritos. It’s great on breakfast burritos too.
Got a quesadilla? I bet it will be yummy with this sauce. Tortilla soup, tostadas, enchiladas, all will love a little squeeze of this sauce. Basically, it’s just really tasty.
Super Simple
The best part about this recipe however, is not its deliciousness. It’s the simplicity. Some really yummy things have their yum factor diminished because of the intense work that is required to make them so yummy.
This sauce is not that way. All it requires is a blender and about 3 minutes of your time.
I use jalapenos from a jar typically because it allows me to control the heat. Fresh jalapenos are awesome but I don’t always know how spicy they will be. Use whichever you prefer. It is good with either.
Dairy Replacement
If you are avoiding dairy, this sauce can be a great addition to your food repertoire. It is very creamy and can replace a beloved dollop of sour cream or sprinkling of cheese.
Now keep in mind, it does not taste like sour cream or cheese, it tastes like a luscious lime and avocado dream but the creaminess can replace that creamy factor that you may be missing without dairy. I hope you take three minutes of your time to try it!
Avocado Lime Dressing
2 medium sized avocadoes
6 jalapeno slices from a jar or 1/2 fresh jalapeno with seeds removed
1/2 cup fresh cilantro
2 limes, juiced
1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
1/2 cup water – more to desired consistency
Peel the avocado and place it in the blender. Add the rest of the ingredients. Blend until smooth. If you want a thinner dressing, add more water.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for a couple weeks. Serve with your favorite mexican food dishes!
