Our Favorite Honey Pecans

A versatile, delicious addition to salads or fruit or smoothie bowls. These honey pecans are easy and quick.

Raw Nuts are the Best

Raw nuts have a healthy balance of fats, protein and fiber. They are an awesome addition to a balanced diet.

We love to snack on raw almonds, bake with pecans, and make “parmesan cheese” and ice cream with cashews.

These honey pecans are also a favorite. I make a big batch and keep them sealed away in a glass jar.

These are Simple

We love to sprinkle them on these Smoothie Bowls and add them to this Fruit Salad. Honey pecans are also an awesome addition to this Apple Pecan Salad.

These come together quickly with just three ingredients – chopped pecans, honey and cinnamon.

Sometimes I leave the pecans whole to snack on or to add to a trail mix. The recipe is made the same way with the whole pecan as it is with chopped pieces.

Single or Double the Batch

Once you chop the pecans, they are spread on a baking sheet. I like to put parchment paper or a silicon mat down first so the honey doesn’t stick to the pan so much.

Drizzle on your honey and sprinkle on the cinnamon and bake. Super easy and simple!

This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled. If you make a big batch and don’t go through them quickly they can be stored in the freezer.

You may find once you have them prepared and sitting around you find all sorts of uses for them!

Cinnamon and Honey Pecans

1 cup chopped pecans

2-3 teaspoons honey

¼ teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

If desired, place a piece of parchment paper or a silicone mat onto your baking sheet. Spread the nuts on the baking sheet. Drizzle the honey over the nuts fairly evenly and sprinkle the cinnamon on top. Don’t stir yet.

Once the oven is preheated, place the nuts in the warm oven. Set the timer for 5 minutes. Once the 5 minutes is up, pull the pan out of the oven and stir the nuts so they are coated evenly with the honey and cinnamon. The honey spreads much easier when it is warm.

Place the nuts back in the oven. Set the timer for 8 minutes. After the 8 minutes, stir again. In my oven, my nuts usually need another 2-3 minutes more but I have to watch them closely because they can go from beautiful to burnt very quickly! Watch them. You want the edges of the nuts to just be darkening and the honey to have a glossy look.

Remove and let cool. Store in an airtight container. If you don’t use them quickly, keep them in the freezer.
