Seeds, seeds – so many different kinds of seeds, all with different nutrition profiles and health benefits. Eat more seeds!
Seeds are Awesome
First off, seeds are a great addition to any diet. They have good healthy fats, protein and fiber that can help you feel fuller longer; which in turn can help with weight management. They contain vitamins and minerals as well as antioxidants.
Seeds, such as amaranth and millet, were life sustaining food for past civilizations. Other seeds were used anciently for medicines – their benefits have been known and passed down for generations.

Use it in Everything
When I first put together this seed mixture, I did so to use it in a bread recipe. I have loved this mixture in our favorite Seeded Multigrain Sourdough Bread over the years but having a jar of it ready and waiting has led me to use the seeds in lots of other recipes as well.
I love to top bagels with it. Often, I add it to granola, granola bars and energy bites. Its delicious in these Tweaked No Bake Cookies.
Additionally, this mixture is a great addition to any smoothie, increasing the nutrition thus making the smoothie more filling. It can be sprinkled over pancakes, waffles and french toast. The seeds don’t change the flavor, they just boost the nutrition!

Just an Outline
This is less of a recipe and more of an outline. Sometimes, I won’t have all the seeds listed and so I will just put in what I do have. Increase or decrease ratios based on preference.
If used within a month, this mixture can be stored in a jar in the pantry. If you go through it more slowly than that, it can be stored in the fridge or freezer. I always store my extra seeds in the freezer to extend their shelf life.
